Fulham - Hodgson on Elm!

I recall David Elm making an impact for the reserves, against Chelsea. Pundits who contacted me were insistent that this Scandinavian was one to watch and could make a breakthrough this season.

Well that now appears to be the case with Elm looking as if he could be the one to provide the momentum to drive our season on towards a decent conclusion.

Thrust into the starting eleven again, last night, Elm proved to be a revelation scoring once and providing a great assist for Danny Murphy as Fulham took the three points that helped ease any thoughts of being dragged into a relegation battle.

After the game, Roy Hodgson spoke about Elm, commenting,

"David will be very encouraged by his goal but also by his marvelous cautioned header which set up Danny Murphy."

"He has been a bit of a revelation for us. He`s made quick progress up the pecking order and deserves to be there."

It`s looking more and more like Roy has delved into the Scandinavian market and unearthed another gem.

cushioned and not cautioned, maybe... but he looks good... from what i saw i think bobby was the better contributor... scored and forced the parry that led to elms goal... and gave a glorious pass to etuhu... he played well... glad they're both in goal scoring form...

Whoa! Little early to pile on the praise. He has great touch for a big man, but he's still very awkward out there - a poor man's Peter Crouch. I'm happy for the lad for scoring, but he has a long way to go, yet. Hopefully, he'll continue to progress. I suspect he'll be a long-term replacement for Nevland.

Looked good when playing with Bobby, but has less impressive playing with Okaka and Nevland. Time will tell, but he has potential.
