Fulham - Hodgson on Johnson Injury!

After securing the services of Stefano Okaka (on loan) but letting Diomansy Kamara go to Celtic (on loan) things haven`t gone quite according to plan.

The idea was that Okaka would supplement our current strike force of Andrew Johnson, Bobby Zamora and Erik Nevland with possibly David Elm also being included.

Unfortunately, Andrew Johnson could soon be removed from the equation for the remainder of this season.

News has been released that Johnson requires an exploratory operation on a knee injury and there are fears that it could require a lay-off spanning the remainder of this season prompting Roy Hodgson to comment,

"He`s having an explanatory operation on his knee. If the problem is as major as it could possibly be, he`d need an operation that would keep him out for the rest of the season."

"Andy is shattered, he`s devastated."

"One of the reasons we let Diomansy go was because we didn`t think the problem with Andy was anywhere near as grave as it is. Now I might be beginning to regret it."

It just goes to show how complicated life can get at times!

i hope he's not out the rest of the season...

I'm not terribly troubled 'cause we did fine earlier this season without him, but with Dempsey out, I was hoping he might be the one to step up and score some goals. Guess it will need to be Okaka.

mmmm this just reminds me what it is like to support the whites....maybe the success of last year and the regularity of the team player formation and continuity, has softened the skin of an historic battle worn relegation supporter. Its time for WAR....lets hear the battle cry tonight!!!!!!

not another injury - is AJ jinxed when it comes to injuries?

I fear we'll never see the best of AJ now!

still say give elm a go what have we got to lose

The frustration felt by supporters, when a player is injury prone, is obvious. All I can say is that AJ must hold that feeling to a far greater intensity. I guess we can only be grateful that he was insured. Allegedly, Hull couldn't afford the insurance on Bullard when they bought him from us, taking a gamble on him staying fit. That has proved a very costly decision.

I think with the injuries...he is past it now.
