Fulham - Hodgson Snaps Up Shorey!

As the transfer deadline drew ever nearer Roy Hodgson indulged in another little dabble.

With injury concerns about our two full backs, John Pantsil and Paul Konchesky, Roy has taken the Aston Villa full back, Nicky Shorey, on ,loan, for the remainder of the season.

Shorey, who made his name at Reading, had previously been on loan at Nottingham Forest , will remain at Craven Cottage for the rest of this season with Fulham having also taken an option to sign him on a permanent basis if he impresses.

Shorey, who has previously been in the full England squad, will be hoping the move could provide a much needed boost for him to possibly gate-crash the England 2010 World Cup squad.

Welcome to Fulham Football Club, Nicky Shorey.

Can't see him getting above Konchesky next season.

great to see some quality cover for konch, or even someone to give him a little competition... i'm very happy with this loan signing...

Top draw Roy and great back up to konc. If all goes well sign him over the summer. Not many go left backs around....bargain

I just worry that either him or Konch would end up being wasted talents if the move became permanent.
