Fulham - Hopes of Dempsey

With official news yet to trickle through as to the extent of Clint Dempsey's injury, the American himself has publicly vowed to be fit for the USA's World Cup voyage.

Clint picked up the injury during our 2-0 loss to Blackburn at Ewood park, and his fitness has concerned us, the fans, since. He hopes, however, that the knee ligament damage is not as serious as first feared and that he can face England in the American's opening World Cup game.

The versatile midfielder's scan results are set to be returned today, therefore we can only hope the news is published tomorrow.

I for one hope he's right, and that he'll be back sooner rather than later!

Report is no surgery required. He'll be out for a while, but we might have him back towards season's end.
