Fulham - Nevland Staying?

Rumours suggest that Erik Nevland is to prolong his Fulham career by signing a new contract.

Comments appearing in the Norwegian media suggest a contract will be signed this month with Roy Hodgson keen to keep the thirty-two year old striker on the club books commenting,

'I definitely will offer Nevland a new contract. We will discuss the length of the contract with the player and his agent during January.'

With Nevland quoted as having remarked,

'It is fantastic to be in the Premier League.'

'And not something that you would give up on easily."

'I am very positive to be staying here but I don't want to say too much until I get an offer and see what that will mean.'

All that remains then is to put that signature on the dotted line and it`s job done!

Or are things not quite as simple as that?

Nevland is a good finisher but there's no way he can play week-in week-out. I'm glad he's signing a new deal and all, but, I can't help feel his career peak has been and gone.

WHAT DO YOU SAY ALL BILLY
truth sayer ffc
I've always been happy when he's started but at his age I'm not sure he can do it every week! But there again he might still have plenty in the tank!
Al Billy
better the devil you know - perhaps!
Fulham Badger
precisely - he can do a job and I'd prefer him over Kamara anyday!
Putney
he's great off the bench because he's so clinical... i'd like to see him get a little run of matches...

He seems to be a bit on and off to me, but, I admit, when he's on, he's very good!
