Fulham - Zamora Woe!

Sat watching the encounter, at the Britannia Stadium, on Sky Sports last night, I received a text message from Vital Fulham member, Al Billy

Apart from re-iterating how cold it was and blaspheming as to how the fifty or so travelling supporters who had braved the icy conditions to venture north couldn`t believe we`d shipped three goals, inside forty-five minutes, against a team who`d scored only once in six Premier League games, he said there was a shared look of disbelief as Bobby Zamora was carried away on a stretcher.

Another text message confirmed that, despite the ongoing fight back that saw us almost snatch a point, the general topic of conversation amongst the hardy souls related to the extent of Bobby`s injury.

Zamora, as we`re all perfectly aware, has been at the top of his form in recent months and his skills have helped us into the position whereby we`re comfortable in the Premier League and still in the Europa League. Our fears relate to the severity of the injury.

If the shoulder injury is serious it`ll hurt two fold.

Firstly, it`ll hamper the team as most of our best work seems to involve Zamora in one way or another and secondly because a serious amount of time away from the rigour of first team action could see any faint hopes of an international call-up ended.

At the time of writing we await news on the injury, let`s hope it`s not as bad as first feared.

As for Al Billy I could have done without the text message in the early hours of the morning telling me he`d finally got home!

Not good. Seems similar to AJ's injury earlier on in the season. Only positive I can take from it is that we won't be fending off bids for him for the next few weeks...

Time for AJ to justify that huge transfer fee.

To get those goals though, we're gonna have to completely adapt our method of play temporarily. Could take some getting used to and some major tactical tweaks for Roy. But, after all, that's what he's good at!
