'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Pantsil Latest News!

One week after suffering the knee injury that has seen John Pantsil ruled out of participating in the African Cup of Nations, news is starting to filter through with regards to the length of his absence.

With the injury confirmed as being a posterior cruciate ligament injury Roy Hodgson has confirmed the following,

'We know from the scan that John has damaged his posterior cruciate ligament so he has a serious injury."

'There's no hope for me that the medical staff are going to phone me and say it's not as bad as we thought it would be, it's only going to be a couple of weeks."

'What they are talking about is the difference between 10 and maybe 18 weeks so we will have to do without Pantsil for a long time.'

I think it`s fair to say that Pantsil`s season is over and that he`ll have to work hard to get fit to make Ghana`s squad for the 2010 World Cup.

Missing that would be even more heart-breaking than missing the African Cup of Nations.

He's back in 6 weeks! - “It looked bad and I feared for the worse so to be told I am out for six weeks puts my mind at ease now,” Paintsil told KickOffGhana.com.

I think Kelly is very good cover, but I'm guessing Ghana are a bit peed as it stands...

i'll be pleasantly surprised if he's back in six...

So would I. At first it seemed like the remainder of the season, and I would expect about 10, as stated...

Kelly is decent cover for Pantsil. 10 weeks is unfortunately more likely I suspect
