Anyone else had to pinch themselves this morning to realise it was not a dream.
In my opinion the win yesterday eclipsed the victory over Liverpool a few weeks back, even if United were injury hit.
More importantly, we looked able to score whenever it seemed United might be able to force their way back into the game. All three goals came at what could be described as perfect moments.
Roy Hodgson takes up the story,
"We played well in the first half and went in 1-0 up."
'We were expecting a bit of a backlash and we were fortunate to get a very early second goal, which gave us something to hold onto."
'The shape of the team remained strong and we were then able to get a third goal.'
In fact you got the feeling that as much as we were enjoying events Sir Alex Ferguson just wanted the game to end and to get out of West London. Roy, however, had some sympathy for his managerial colleague, remarking,
'We were fortunate today."
'We played a United side that are suffering very badly from injury but we can't do much more I suppose than play as well as we can play."
'But I have a lot of sympathy for Sir Alex at the moment because it is not easy when you are missing a whole back four.'
I guess the old saying about only being able to beat what is put out in front of you was perfectly near the truth.
Roy also had a few words to say about the star of the show as well, Bobby Zamora, commenting,
'He is a handful for any defence and I think he would have been a handful even if it had been Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic playing there."
'He was a thorn in their side throughout the game and he crowned his performance with that very important second goal."
But, always the gent, Roy was also quick to praise the other members of his squad who played a significant part yesterday, commenting,
'But I thought there were a lot of very good performances. It was a team performance that got us the victory."
'I was delighted with the effort of all 11 players.'
Ands so were we Roy, so were we!
