Our gaffer has already been linked with managing the Great Britain team at the forthcoming 2012 London Olympics but could Roy`s long term future also lie in the international arena?
It`s a subject that has been discussed before. Roy has previous international managerial experience with Finland and Switzerland and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the game.
Fabio Capello, if he wins the World Cup next summer, may decide to go out on a high, or if he has a shocking tournament he could be removed from office by, how you say, mutual consent.
One Fulham player who reckons Roy is ideally suited for the job is Chris Baird, who is quote don the BBC web site as having remarked,
"I can`t see any reason why Roy couldn`t do the job."
"He knows international football, did a great job with the Swiss and has phenomenal experience of the game."
"Obviously England have a good manager at the moment, but if the job became available I`m sure they would give Roy the opportunity to talk to them and at least take it from there."
"Since the gaffer came to Fulham he has done amazing things. To keep us up in his first season was incredible enough, but to finish seventh last season was just magnificent."
"The boys are all playing for him, we`re all happy he`s here and we don`t want to lose him."
It would be a shame to ever see Roy leave Fulham but if your nation comes calling………..![]()
