Fulham - It Was Uncalled For Bobby!

I have to say that it escaped my notice on Sunday when Bobby Zamora scored and screamed an expletive at the crowd.

Apparently, Bobby shouted,

At the Fulham faithful prompting the following response from Roy Hodgson,

"That celebration was the result of not scoring as many goals as he would have liked."

"Maybe Bobby reads too many of these blogs that people write in to our web site."

"Our fans at Craven Cottage constantly chant his name, but these people who write in on the internet are the real experts."

"They are the people who want something that Bobby has not been able to deliver - and that`s 30 goals a season."

"But Bobby Zamora has been a key player for us and Sunderland`s centre backs certainly know they have been in a game today."

All we`ll say is that, on this site, we`ve never criticised Bobby and that he`s always had our full support.

Also, a week after Jimmy Bullard and Hull provided the goal scoring celebration of the season we find ourselves producing one at the opposite end of the scale.

It wasn`t called for and here at Vital Fulham we`d prefer it if Bobby continued to let his football do the talking when it comes to silencing the boo-boys!

Can't speak for the articles, but the members of this forum have certainly criticized Bobby (myself included) over the past couple of season, and I don't think he has everyone's FULL support. We're a better team with him in the line-up, so I'm glad we have him. Likewise, I'm glad he's finding the net recently, but two league goals last season and four so far this season (one off his back that he knew nothing about) is certainly not going to shield him from all criticism. And Roy's statement that the fans expected 30 goals from him is ridiculous. Did anyone expect more than 10 this season? I certainly didn't. He's done a lot for us, despite not scoring much, but no one gets a free-pass these days.

I saw him as a replacement for McBride and he was a legend despite not exactly being free scoring. Zamora should have got more goals but hasn't, and some of his misses last season in front of goal were poor. That being said its clear he does a good job as a hold up man in a 'Heskey role'. He hasn't received anywhere near as much stick as he obviously thinks he has from the fans. I sit in Stevenage Road close to the Hammy end. He has received nothing but vocal and constant support from those ends all season, personally I think he's out of order.

I thougt it was directed at the Sunderland fans for booing Duff moments earlier...

People seem to forget that Bobby Z and AJ were consistent striking partners for Fulham last season and were thus part of the most successful fulham team in 130 years!!! He may not score many goals but I love his work ethic and passion. Many a time in the Hammy end I have been frustrated by some of his choices and finishing but when he plays its puts the wind up most defences. He has played massive roles in given AJ goals, kamara goals, nevlend goals and dempsey goals. Bobby pay em no mind..... Oh and if he did score 30 goals, he would not be at Fulham!!!!

i think it's out of line... i don't think he's gotten nearly as much stick as he has previously... just play the game and keep your head down... if reading the message boards *****es you off, then don't do it... jeez... from what i understand he gets good vocal support at the matches, so what's the problem... clear your head out, bobby...

I am just pleased that FFC have players intelligent enough to be able to read.

Got to tell ya, the more I see the replays, the more annoyed I get. As far as I'm concerned, he just made it easier for me to criticize him the next time he misses a sitter.

he was a foolish boy methinks!
