'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Hodgson Linked to 3 Lions Job!

I first stumbled across this option in a Sunday tabloid and now it appears to be gathering momentum!

One journalist with a lot to say for himself, suggested that once the circus surrounding Fabio Capello concludes that the next manager of England could well be a cheaper option, namely our Roy.

Now with an Europa League fixture against CSKA Sofia looming up, a television pundit who will be working with Channel 5 to cover the game has joined those backing the possibility of such a move.

Pat Nevin, a respected pundit has commented,

'There is a feeling in the wind that Roy should one day be England manager and I would go along with that.'

'It would be a shame if, when Capello does leave, the FA felt there was not an Englishman capable of taking the England team. There are two or three people who are at the latter stages of their careers, which, historically, is when people are best suited to international management. Roy Hodgson fits that profile perfectly and he would have to be regarded as a serious contender.'

Therefore, if things go swimmingly well for England in South Africa next summer we could, if these people are right, be looking for a new manager for next season!
