Fulham - Hodgson Pleased With Point?

I guess after the high of Wednesday night when Blackburn were swept aside, yesterday was a little disappointing.

Perhaps Bolton, knowing they`d never won at Craven Cottage in the Premier League and after a poor result against Blackburn Rovers last weekend were keen to grind out a result for the under-fire Gary Megson.

In his after match interview with Sky Sports, Roy Hodgson mulled over events and seemed pleased, in the end, that we`d got a point from the affair.

Here`s what he had to say.

'It was a fair result I thought.'

'But we were unlucky to go in 1-0 down at half-time because it was then virtually a game of no chances for either side."

'We had a ball cleared off the line and really they converted their first chance, much in the way we did against Blackburn on Wednesday night."

'Second-half I thought we really took the game to them and dominated totally, with another couple of clearances off the line and a couple of good saves from Jussi Jaaskelainen."

'Luckily for us, at least we get an equaliser but I think we can be a little bit disappointed we didn't win the game."

'But having said that, I've got to give a lot of credit to Bolton, having come here on a string of disappointing results for them, and they've really worked hard and put their bodies on the line to get a draw today."

'So it would be childish really to begrudge them of the point that they fought so hard for here."

'They worked very hard, the back players won a lot of tackles and I thought we asked a lot of questions of them in the second-half and really put them to the test."

'And unfortunately, when we did get in behind them in one or two good positions, Jussi Jaaskelainen proved what a top goalkeeper he is by pulling off the saves."

'But I'm quite pleased we showed the character to come back after the disappointment of the first-half and it's our third tough game in a week."

'So at least we can come away unbeaten and with one more point in the bag.'

Indeed we can Roy but I so wanted three!

Next up though, we turn our attentions to a home fixture, in the Europa League, against CSKA Sofia.

THEY DID DESERVE A POINT BETTER THEN A LOSS JUST

For a terrible match, I thought we were the better side. No other way to look at it as anything but dropped points.

two points lost in my book - Bolton were there for the taking!
