Fulham - Hangeland Signs on the Dotted Line!

Yesterday Roy Hodgson indicated that he believed that Brede Hangeland would soon put pen to paper on a new contract.

Well it turns out that Roy was perfectly right with our favourite Norwegian defender signing on the dotted line yesterday for a further three and a half years.

The deal is being reported as worth £40,000 a week and will surely put an end to all speculation relating to a move to Arsenal.

Speaking about the new deal, Brede has commented,

"I have always maintained I am happy at Fulham and committed to doing everything I can to ensure the ongoing success of the team."

"It`s great to see that the club has made great progress since I first joined in January 2008, which has seen the highest-ever finish for the team in the club`s 130-year history at the end of last season."

"This is testament to everyone involved at the club."

Although we`d like to add that Brede played a massive part in that achievement and we`re well chuffed he`s decided to stay.

he can still be sold if a decent bid comes in!

but it certainly shows our intent to keep him, and our intent to remain a top ten squad... everything has been done correctly so far from the club's perspective... we locked down roy, and now we've done the same with one of our most important player... i'm very happy...
