Fulham - Hodgson Sticks Up for Zamora!

I guess one day the man himself will sit down and have a chuckle about it!

After all it`s not every day that you miss a sitter from all of five yards and miss it so spectacularly!

If I recall right, one punter recently posted a thread after an article questioning where Bobby Zamora would be if he could score on a regular basis, to which another punter implied - he`d not be at Craven Cottage.

And they`re probably right, all that`s missing from his game is the ability to be a regular scorer, if it were something he could master or something he were to be born with I`ve no doubt he`d be pulling on the white shirt of England.

After the dramatic fight-back, from 2-0 down, at the City of Manchester Stadium, Roy Hodgson did his best, whilst entertaining the media to deflect attention away from the horror miss remarking,

"It was an horrific miss. It`s a pity as Bobby played so well. Unfortunately people who watch the match on TV will see the miss."

"But what they won`t see is the 96 minutes and 45 seconds in which he was magnificent."

"It did affect his confidence - but only for 10 minutes or so, But Bobby exemplified our character and resilience."

Precisely! Everyone makes mistakes and its human nature to gloat over them!

You`re still champion by us Bobby!

it's true. he was great (other than the miss) and he's in good form at the moment... just ask duff who assisted his goal... i just hope that miss doesn't go to bobby's head...

If Bobby were affected by missing opportunities, he'd be in a mental health facility by now. If we hadn't gotten the point yesterday, would we be so understanding? I doubt it. Roy's defended him time and time again, but if there an opportunity in January to sign a productive, proven forward, I think you'll see Roy take it.
Teddy_KGB
lol - probably true but if he can forget it he should, it happens to all forwards!
Al Billy
but it'll haunt him - you'll see - TV will not let him forget!
Fulham Badger
teddy, i'd argue that last year he was a head case from his lack of goals... you saw his reaction when he finally scored last season...
woodysweats
even without the goles he gave the roma defence hell
