It`s strange how the tables can turn so quickly!
Not too long ago we were all worried about the possibility of Brede Hangeland being snapped up by another club, of being enticed away from Craven Cottage by the promise of better things.
At the time Roy Hodgson implied that he wanted Brede to stay but that the decision had to be his. Now, with it becoming public knowledge that Roy`s contract expires at the end of the season, the boot appears to be on the other foot.
Brede, still at Fulham, has gone public on his feelings and hopes for Roy, remarking ahead of the fantastic 2-2 draw against Manchester City,
"I`m convinced that if any manager can get this club good results, it`s him."
"I don`t see anybody doing a better job at the moment so I`m relieved to have him."
"I think he is more valued abroad than he is here but I think that is beginning to change a little bit."
"People have seen what a good job he`s done with Fulham."
"He`s an honest, hard-working manager. I have the greatest respect for him."
"It`s not surprising he was linked with the Norway and the Sweden jobs. What can I say?"
"He`s worked there ad he`s a great manager."
"It would be surprising if they did not mention him but it`s not my decision. I haven`t had a word with him but if he went I hope he`d go to Norway so he could be my manager still but I hope he stays, of course."
If, by some strange quirk of fate, Roy was allowed to leave Craven Cottage, it appears Brede would be as gutted as the rest of us!![]()
