Fulham - Hodgson on 'Six` Officials!
Despite the crushing disappointment of going so close to beating AS Roma but being denied with the last kick of the game, there was only ever going to be one major topic of discussion in the after match interviews, that red card.
With UEFA`s introduction of two extra officials last night wasn`t suppose to have happened, positioning these two extra officials behind the goal was supposed to alleviate the load on the match referee but Roy Hodgson was quick to blast the conception, remarking,
"Nothings changed with the addition of extra refs. They make wrong decisions. We know that all the time."
"They corrected the blatant error but the guy on the line must make it clear it wasn`t a last man foul."
The original recipient of the red card, Brede Hangeland, had his own tale to tell, commenting,
"I told the ref it was not me. He said 'who was it then?` Nobody owned up at first."
Nobody owned up! Why should they with six officials, between them, managing to cock it up?

The extra officials seem to contribute nothing. It's fairly clear that their responsibilities have not been defined 'cause they just seem to stand around and wait for the center ref to tell them what to do.

that probably is true, teddy... i would bet there roles are not defined... and how mad would you be at kelly if you were hangeland... OWN UP! and as a teammate, don't you think we need our best centerback on the pitch and not our cover fullback?
