'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - American Youngster in Our Sights!

Strikers seem to the subject of the month as far as the 'Daily Grapevine` goes.

Perhaps they`re latching onto the fact that our strikers are not being as prolific as we`d like.

As the weekend came to a conclusion the buzz was that Roy Hodgson had taken a liking to the Russian striker that cannot force his way into the Spurs starting line up.

Reaction to that rumour was, amongst the Vital Fulham membership, mixed to say the least.

Today, therefore, it`s not too much a surprise that the 'Daily Grapevine` has focused on the other end of the market and found us amore financially viable target.

His name is Brek Shea and he`s a 19 year old who plays for FC Dallas.

Apparently, he`d cost us in the region of £2 million and is able to play down the middle or as an out and out winger.

He sounds promising but, apart from those few words, we know very little about him.

Is there anyone over in the States able to shed some light on the lad for us?

Three words: Eddie f'in Johnson!
Teddy_KGB
well i know nothing about him as i'm not in the dallas region... however if our best international forward in jozy altidore is playing for hull, do we really want a 19 year old american coming in? please feel free to tell me otherwise...

He was one of the better performers in the U-20 world cup for the USA - but that isn't saying a hell of a lot. He is big and has pace and looks decent with the ball, but he is definitely a long term investment not the finished article. My guess is you would bring him in the winter and then loan him out to a championship side for the rest of the season.

it's along way to be from home at that age!
