Fulham - Gera Says………..

Many people present at Craven Cottage on late Saturday afternoon thought that Zoltan Gera was our best performer on the day.

Following his wonder strike up at the City of Manchester Stadium, Gera was introduced as an early substitute after Damien Duff picked up a hamstring injury as early as the eighth minute.

With concerns being expressed by the supporters that the Europa League is impeding upon our Premier League form, with a string of poor performances coming on the back of Europa League games, Zoltan was quick to pick up on this point in his post match interview, remarking,

"If we keep playing like this and putting in this sort of performance then we will not have anything to worry about. We were just unlucky."

"It`s been difficult this season because we are in Europe and we need to keep a balance to make sure we keep getting results."

"Their keeper made some great saves. It was a good derby."

I guess the proof in the pudding will come after we`ve played Basel on Thursday evening and then journey across London to take on West Ham United next Sunday.

If Gera continues this run of form, he's deserves a place in the starting 11. I have an opinion as to who should sit, but I'll save that for an article I'm working on.
