Fulham - Hodgson Gives Praise Where Praise is Due!

Following on from the Carling Cup exit, at the hands of Manchester City, deep into extra time, Roy Hodgson had nothing but praise for his side.

Picking a completely different eleven to that which had underperformed against Wolves on Sunday, they almost did enough to take us to a penalty shoot-out and who knows what might have happened then.

But with the Carling Cup very low on our list of priorities with Premier League survival obviously the highest, Roy, looking into his wise words, felt the Carling Cup was an ideal platform for some of his younger players to gain valuable experience.

Talking to the media, in his post match interview, he had this to say,

"It was a marvellous performance from us right through the game. Many of these players have played only once or twice for us in the first team."

"Some of them were making their debuts and they will be disappointed because we could have taken Manchester City to penalties."

"I wanted to give some players a taste of first team football at the highest level."

"I thought this team would give City a good game and be hard to beat and we stretched them and made it difficult."

Have any of those chosen last night done enough to merit selection against Arsenal this weekend, we`d be interested to hear your thoughts.

How nice to have a straight manager who doesn't try and undermine his team, his opponents, the referee or anything else that might bring some modicum of advantage. Roy Hodgson has the type of behaviour that equate far more with a 'Sir' than a certain Scottish man (note I didn't say gentleman) whose uncouth, disgraceful and deceitful behaviour does the title no favours at all. Time was when a`Sir' could be respected now I beg to differ.

truely said, willy... i am very proud to have Roy at the helm... I wonder what it would take for Roy to be given the title of "Sir"...
