'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hangeland`s Agent Speaks With Forked Tongue!

The mutterings earlier this month related to Brede Hangeland signing a new contract.

We believed that it was almost a done deal but now we`re not so sure.

Hidden away amongst a right old load of guff uttered by his agent are the following words,

'How long is it to the next window?'

'Three months? It's true, the ball's in Fulham's court."

Or in the words of a common fan, offer my client a deal he can`t refuse or else I`ll tout him to the highest bidder!

This despite the agent having previously blustered,

'There was interest in Brede - but nothing concrete, so now is a good time to resume talks with Fulham."

'Brede always wanted to stay in London and - from Fulham's point of view - he also likes Roy Hodgson and feels loyal to him."

Is Brede one of the very few to put loyalty above big bucks?

Can Fulham tie him to a new deal before 2010?

I`d hazard a guess that in January we might just find out!

As far as I'm concerned, if he hasn't signed the new contract by now, it means he's waiting for a bigger club. Can't say I blame him. Arsenal can't defend. Liverpool can't defend. Man City can't defend. Spurs can't defend. At least, not at level needed for League and CL glory. I can't imagine that we'll have him after January. This has been a long time coming. We were lucky to keep him this summer. I don't see how we can avoid it.

I reckon he'll end up at City - just got this feeling!

i think he hasn't signed yet because fulham haven't offered him a deal that brede was willing to accept... i think if he feels like he's getting paid what he deserves, he will stay on.

I guess he wants mega-bucks that'll break our pay structure then!

I reckon he'll be off come Jan!
