Fulham - Brede Confident of Euro Progress!
One of the highlights of our Europa League campaign is sure to be the experience of playing in the Olympic Stadium in Rome.
It was, off course, used for the Champions League Final last year and holds historic status.
Our Europa League campaign promises to be a tricky affair but Brede Hangeland has wasted no time, now it`s certain that he`s staying with the transfer window being closed, of discussing the subject with the media.
Brede feels we have a chance against all three teams, remarking,
'I think all three opponents are beatable and we have a fair chance to progress to the knock-out stage.'
'I think we all wanted to play a big team and we've got Roma, which will obviously be two very big matches for us and then the other two [FC Basel and Levski Sofia] will be very good teams as well. But we should be confident."
'I've played in Sofia before but haven't played in the Stadio Olimpico or in Basel, so it will be a new experience for me and I think it's great to play in those kind of games."
It sure will be. Who`d have thought that when the relegation trap door was gaping wide open before that historic trip to Fratton Park, some sixteen months ago, that such rich rewards would be coming our way.
It`s a point Brede also picked up on when he commented,
'Playing different teams and going to different places is a prize we've earned after a good season last year.'
But, here at Vital Fulham we remain insistent that it`s no use claiming the prize if you`re going to suffer in the competition that provided that prize in the first place. Is it?
