'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sorry Roy - It`s Not For Me!

I can`t say the appeal of entering a Great Britain XI in the 2012 London Games appeals to me at all, we`ve made do without before and I`m sure we`d make do after as well.

In fact I can`t say the prospect of watching football at the Olympics has ever enthralled me, I`ve always though the Olympics were over-rated and should simply focus on the Athletic events.

Therefore to read that Roy Hodgson has been tipped to manage the aforementioned Great Britain XI has left me a little cold.

Okay, it might be a good feather in his cap and with Roy spouting all the right words about taking on the role, namely,

'I was a major contender to be England manager, but I've never had the job. If you are asking whether there has been any contact, the answer is no."

'It's very nice to hear. It's a long way off and it would be an honour for anyone who gets the job. If it ever came about that I was offered the job, I'd be happy to take it. But I know nothing more.'

There is probably a good chance that he`ll be awarded the role. Personally, I`d be much happier for him just to concentrate on his role with us because, to me, it`s much more important than two weeks of over-budgeted, wasteful slap on the back grandiose events masquerading as the London 2012 Olympics!

I love the Olympics and would love to see Roy play a part - get a grip putney!

no! it's madness to spend all that money when parts of our country are dying on their feet!
Putney
it's kind of bizarre that they want a coach locked up by the end of the year for the 2012 games... seems a bit far away, no?
