Fulham - Duff Deal that Much Closer!

Sat watching Newcastle demolish Reading yesterday evening one player was conspicuous by his absence - Damien Duff.

Duff, who had scored the equaliser at West Bromwich Albion for Newcastle the previous weekend, appears to have moved that little bit closer to a move to Craven Cottage.

It would appear that the £4 million offer reportedly carded by Fulham is sufficiently high enough to tempt Newcastle to part with one of the higher earners in their squad.

Collared, ahead of our 1-0 win at Fratton Park, Roy Hodgson clarified matters somewhat by remarking to the media,

'I think he's been allowed to come down and he's having a medical."

'If all goes well I'm hoping the details will be finalised both on his personal contract and the details between ourselves and Newcastle."

'I'm hoping that will be finalised at the beginning of next week and, all being well, I'll be able to tell you he's a Fulham player next week."

'Until it's completed, it's better to be prudent, but I'm very hopeful we'll have Damien with us.'

Fingers crossed folks; it looks like this may be a deal that actually comes off.
