Fulham - Chasing Damien Duff!

After scoring the opening goal of Newcastle`s campaign, down in the Championship, rumours insist that Damien Duff may well have played his last game for the north-east club.

Newcastle, who are eager to cut their wage bill after relegation from the Premier League, are looking to move Damien Duff on and the reports on various sites and in various newspapers suggest Fulham is a likely destination.

Duff, at thirty years of age, would command a fee in the region of 4 million and it`s being suggested that he`d welcome a move back to West London.

With rumours also implying that we`re looking to snap up Duff`s Newcastle colleague, Mark Viduka, they could prove to be two valuable additions to the squad.

But, with both having troubled careers injury wise, could we be lining ourselves up for more trouble than they`re worth?

Thumbs up Duff! Should be an excellent acquisition! We are very thin on the wings and Zoltan Gera plays like a newborn foal! Viduka - No thanx! Fat, old, lazy, overpaid! We might as well get Dean Windass!

I agree with Zimmer. Duff, yes. Viduka, no. I like our 4 up top and hope that Kamara ends up staying. Between Europa and internationals I am worried that Dempsey will get worn down. Someone like Duff will help out there and adds flexibility to push Dempsey up top if we need to shake things up due to injury or resting players. I haven't seen anything about Davies recently - is he back to 100%?

I just read the match preview. Thanks for the update on Davies, Mr. Joyce.

Great buy, if he stayes fit, but the last two seasons he has been always injured. Risky buy.

A lot of people I know don't like the lad. However, I think he is just what we need. Hope it goes through!
KBFulham
but how many games will he play?
Al Billy
I've always rated Duff!
Alex Petrovic
Very experienced in the Premiership, has played at the highest level, respected international. IOf yopu can keep him fit and he can get his pace back then he could be a good buy. But surely he is a player on the way down rather than the way up.

DUFF MAY HAVE A COUPLE OF GOOD YEARS IN HIM VERY EXPERIENCED ROY WILL KNOW AND MUST LIKE WHAT HE SAW AT THER BLACKBURN DAY S WILL GIVE US STRENGTH INDEBT MARK VADUKA HAS RULED HIMSELF OUT OF A RETURN TO THE PREM IF WE CAN GET HIM GOOD AND ONE MORE TOP NAME SHOULD DO US

keep hangeland, look to sign duff and viduka wasnt up for the challenge. My favourite press article of that summer this was. Oh except for Sven going to Notts County. I had to double check the date when I read that one.

Most sides in the Premiership would be happy to have Duff in their squad, so if he was available at a reasonable price AND could prove his fitness its a no-brainer for Fulham
donfulham
don great minds think i like

If he takes a big pay cut, then it would be ok to sign, but if he thinks that he should get the same wage as in Newcastle, then it would be better to say no. Unfortunately he is made of glass.
JKW
he needs to stay fit, but then again, he won't be playing every game, so he hopefully won't get ground down as much over time... he's good cover, not a starter, and i think that's ok... maybe a bit too much for cover at the wing position, but european experience, and a great relationship with roy i'd imagine...
