Fulham Give Trial to Dane Playing in Italy!

A common thread amongst the numerous news agencies is that Fulham have given a trial to the Danish defender, Magnus Troest.

Troest, twenty-two years of age is a centre back who was once on the books of Aston Villa, as a youth player, and is now playing for Genoa in Serie A.

In the Danish press, the following quotes are attributed to him,

"I can confirm that I am on my way to England to meet a Premier League club."

"I have a big desire to play in England and a transfer right now would suit me fine. I don`t get to train with the A side at Genoa since they want to sell me."

"The English club wants to see me in action in training and a match."

However, before we all get carried away, perhaps we should point out that Magnus Troest has yet to make an appearance for Genoa in Serie A after leaving Parma.

But, that doesn`t mean that Roy Hodgson can`t turn this rough diamond into a polished diamond.

I wasn't really impressed with him, when he was playing in Denmark. I am especially concerned about his pace! But perhaps he has developed into some kind of Usain Bolt in Italy.... Who knows!

he better not be a third rate replacement for brede...

I don't think Roy would stoop to an unproven player to replace Brede. Hopefully this lad is just backup.

roy my boy will know whats what watch this space if we can get him on loan or on a free why not give it a go

Young lad with a lot of experience and fair amount of talent, might be a new Hangeland buy, Roy knows what he's doing.

In my eyes, if he can't play first team football at Genoa, he can't play first team at Fulham. However, we do certainly need some depth there...

Genoa is very good team and to hit in their first eleven is very hard. This lad is very young and Genoa can't wait him to develop, I'm sure he would become a very good player under Roy.
