Fulham - The Gaffer on Last Night

Despite the almost monsoon like conditions, the performance the lads produced last night, in the Europa League third qualifying round, augers well for the future.

Although the opposition were somewhat limited in quality you can`t argue with a 6-0 aggregate win.

After the match and away from the inclement conditions, Roy Hodgson spoke about the positives and the negatives of playing so early in the build up to the Premier League season, remarking,

"This was our last game before the Premier League season starts."

"We lose players next week to the international break and so it was good to get a result under our belts. I`m pleased with the way we played. I hope this`ll be good enough to get us a seeding in the draw."

"Hopefully we will avoid the Italian and Spanish teams. We could meet another British team like Hearts or Aberdeen."

"But we are just pleased to be looking at another two games. We won`t be counting on that European League until we get there."

I`m not sure who is left in the draw but I`d be willing to bet we`re one of the teams that others would not want to be drawn against!
