Fulham - First Goal is still Survival!

Fulham - First Goal is still Survival!

Although he`s the subject of much transfer speculation there have, as far as we`re aware been no official bids for Brede Hangleand.

What we`ve read in the tabloid press appears to be merely nothing but speculation.

In fact, the tall Norwegian, when interviewed recently, appears to be 100% focussed on the forthcoming campaign and looking forward to that proverbial goal of first achieving sufficient points to survive, remarking,

"We are in Europe, but the Premier League remains the most important thing. Even though we finished seventh last year, I am sure the goal for the next season will be to avoid relegation."

But, with one eye on the bigger picture, Brede also found time to comment on the much anticipated European campaign, commenting,

"It is pretty crazy that we are in Europe. No-one had thought about that before last season and for Fulham as a club it is a fantastic achievement and very exciting."

I think it`s fait to say that when Danny Murphy scored that all important goal down at Fratton Park to guarantee our survival, not many supporters thought we`d come so far so quickly, I certainly didn`t!

Good point, we have to be realistic. Let's first avoid relegation and then we will start to look forward.

i'm certainly ok with that... i think the first goal should be making sure we have enough success to ensure roy's job as manager... he's a legend and we can't lose our heads and call for him to get axed... i would love to see another top ten finish, but first and foremost, let's make sure we're in the top flight another year...

I totally agree though is the first season since the first PL season where I am sure we wont go down. There are at least 7/8 teams a lot worse than us.

We are in for a tough season, especially if we don't make some good signings soon. Hangeland is 100% correct with this!

I reckon we'll be safe, it's just a matter of how much Europe interfers with our PL campaign!
