'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sir Bobby Robson - RIP

It`s an enormously sad day today!

Hard on the heels of an enjoyable night celebrating the fine 3-0 win in Lithuania we learn that somebody we cherished as both a player and a manger at Fulham, Sir Bobby Robson, has passed away.

Sir Bobby lost his long fight against cancer with an official statement released by the family reading,

"It is with great sadness that it has been announced today that Sir Bobby Robson has lost his long and courageous battle with cancer."

"He died very peacefully this morning (Friday) at his home in County Durham with his wife and family beside him."

"Sir Bobby`s funeral will be private and for family members only."

"A thanksgiving service in celebration of Sir Bobby`s life will be held at a later date for his many friends and colleagues."

"Lady Robson and the family would very much appreciate it if heir privacy could be respected at a difficult time."

We sure you`ll all join us in raising a glass or two tonight in memory of a true gentleman and a person who gave so much to the game we all love and cherish.

Sir Bobby Robson - RIP

gooner here, and wud just like to add tat we loved him, forget all his football acheivements for a moment, the man was pure class, love him for everything he was n everything he did, there was always a magic about him, wish i wud have met him atleast once, but ahh maybe i will someday, and i think arsene summed him up perfectly when he said tat he had a positive outlook towards mankind and football, the man was so right everytime he spoke, yu cud just listen to him for hours and hours and not get bore and just dun want him to stop. thanks sir bobby, even though yu weren't a gooner, yu just feel like our own, the world is poorer widout yu and i pray tat yu will comeback in dis world again someday and make it a better place once again..
