Fulham - Are We Really Interested in Ashton?

Fulham - Are We Really Interested in Ashton?

Nestling inside the inner sports pages of the Evening Standard last night (Monday) was the implication that Fulham were interested in the West Ham striker, Dean Ashton.

Now before you all join me in gasping and shouting - Please No! - perhaps we should point out that the story appears to be a loose fabrication of the real facts.

Also, thrown into the melting pot as our potential rivals for his signature are Hull City and Stoke!

Now Hull have been linked to a plethora of strikers without actually signing anyone so inevitably we suspected they`d feature and Stoke are always on the look out for a bargain.

But do you really believe that Roy Hodgson would risk £5 million on a striker who spends more time on the treatment table than on the pitch?

Gianfranco Zola, and his West Ham cohorts, would be laughing all the way to the bank wouldn`t they?

yeah i've heard of lot about his potential, and i've seen him score a couple of goals, but i certainly want someone on the pitch, not on the treatment table... there must be a good option for strikers out there, no?

I'd much rather keep Bobby and im still not sold on him which says it all about this 'deal'.
