Fulham Tracking Seattle Striker?

The Daily Star is reporting that Fulham are keeping tabs on Seattle Sounders striker Fredy Montero.

The 21-year-old Colombian has scored 9 goals in 15 matches for the MLS side this season.

Montero is on-loan from Colombian side Deportivo Cali. Montero is a natural goal scorer.

In 89 professional matches (Deportivo Cali, Atlético Huila & Seattle), he`s scored 49 goals.

He has great skill on the ball and is very fast.

His obvious skill aside, I don`t put much stock in this report.

His slight build (approx. 5`8", 155 lbs) and speed translate better to La Liga than the Premier League; where a physical presence is usually a requirement for successful strikers.

Additionally, the Seattle club is in their inaugural season in MLS and Montero is their superstar.

I seriously doubt they would let him leave, though I confess, I don`t know the circumstances of Deportivo Cali`s loan arrangement.

Perhaps they could recall him to be sold.

As the MLS season is over in October, there`s the possibility of a January transfer, as well.

Regardless, I`d be shocked if this went anywhere. Though, I`ve been wrong before.

maybe one for the future? over on skysports, the management at seattle said they wouldn't stand in the way of the player's development, so maybe it could happen?
