Fulham - Roy tips Hangeland to stay

According to the BBC this morning, Roy has moved to end (for now) speculation that Brede wants to leave the Cottage.

Despite interest from Arsenal, Man City and Aston Villa, Roy is backing Hangeland to still be at the club next season and the one after that.

However (and this kind of straight talking is what we've all come to expect from Roy), he has refused to guarantee that he will never leave, saying there is always a bigger club out there, no matter who you play for (highlighting Ronaldo's move from Man Utd to Real Madrid).

I really hope Roy is right on this one as the absence of Hangeland would leave a massive hole in our defence. Still, if (when) the time comes for him to move on, I would think we would at least be able to bank significantly more than we paid for him and then use that money to strengthen the squad.

as long as roy's still here to spend the money we get from brede when that day comes (maybe next summer, who knows) then i'll be happy...

exactly... if we lose Hangeland I'd be gutted, but if we do thats life in the Premier league, the most important thing is to keep hold of Roy

I'd be glad to get one more season out of him!
