Fulham In For Sidwell!

The 'Daily Grapevine` has thrown yet another name into the hat with regards to a potential signing.

With Martin O Neill rumoured to be having a clear-out up at Villa Park there is the suggestion that Steve Sidwell could be one of those allowed to leave and that Fulham are monitoring the situation.

Sidwell only joined Villa during the close season last year, from Chelsea, and has in the last couple of years seen a highly promising career stall. But, Sidwell cost Villa £5 million, when they signed him from Chelsea, and that price might be a little too steep for Roy Hodgson to leap in!

We`ll just have to wait and see if there are any further developments in this one.

go and get him... he was good at reading... i'd try to get him for under 5 mil though...

Ah, yes. The obligatory £5m price tag. Is everyone worth £5m? I like Sidwell. He'd improve the squad. Great pick up... for £4m (not £5m).

Having just lost Gareth Barry to Manchester City, combative midfielder Steve Sidwell is probably the least likely player that Martin O'Neill would want to sell. The whole rumour looks like Press fabrication to me. Roy is roasting better chestnuts over the fire.

I would be surprised to see Villa rip their squad to pieces after what was a good season for them last year. Losing Barry and then selling Sidwell? I agree with Sindbad

Yeah like ***** that is gonna happen.

but Sidwell was on only the fringes at Villa last season was he not?
