Fulham - Kamara to Celtic? My Shout!

A report in the Daily Mirror suggests that Celtic are interested in acquiring Diomansy Kamara from Fulham for a fee of £5m. Celtic recently appointed Tony Mowbray as their new manager. Kamara played for Mowbray at West Brom before his £6m move to Fulham in 2007. Apparently, Mowbray is keen to be re-acquainted with the often injured, less than prolific, overpriced Lawrie Sanchez acquisition.

As you may have already surmised, the sale of Kamara would suit me fine. The transfer would represent a £1m loss for Fulham, but is well worth it, in my opinion. Kamara has scored some important goals for Fulham and should be admired for the effort he put forth last season to return from a serious knee injury. However, he`s never lived up to his hefty transfer fee and if we don`t take this opportunity to unload the striker for a small loss, we`ll likely take a larger loss later.

I wouldn't get your hopes up lads, at least not with regards to Celtic being interested in him.

Mowbray wanted rid of Kamara from West Brom because his attitude stinks therefore I wouldn't expect him to want to sign him for Celtic. I don't think they can afford £5 million anyway.

The money wouldn't be a problem for the right player. However, Lord Shepherd has already given you one valid reason why this is a complete non-starter. Throw-in his non-goalscoring history, at all his previous clubs. And if that still isn't enough, the final clincher would have to be his recent cruciate ligament reconstruction. A journo has taken a complete flyer at this, linked Kamara with TM - via the WBA association - then added 2 + 5 and arrived at a sum total of 0. Having said that, I'm sure RH would love to shift him..

I hope it is true and that he does go. Very good article, agree with every point.

Looks like I'm in the minority here but I don't want to see Kamara leave. I was one of his biggest critics but his performances in our relegation battle under Roy and his performances when he came back from injury last season showed me that he has the talent to compete in this league. I was also impressed with his work rate, plus he actually scored a few (unlike Zamora).

How long has he left on his contract now?
