Fulham - Looking at Spanish Has Been?

The Independent has nailed its colours to the mast and made the suggestion that Fulham are looking to snap up a striker who has formerly played in the Premier League.

Fernando Morientes, is currently available on a free transfer after leaving the
Spanish side Valencia.

Morientes has scored freely in Spain but during his time at Liverpool, only managed 8 goals in 41 games.

Granted, he`d arrive on a free transfer, but seriously, is he the type of player that Fulham should be looking at?

Morientes has had some years at the top tablee of football. His best years are in the past though. He was hot property from 98 to 2005, but has cooled since. His international impact was massive for Spain, with 27 goals from 45 appearances, but he hasn't played for the national team since 2007. Having said that, if Fulham are going to get a decent run in the Europa Cup there are going to be a massive number of games. Your squad will just not be large enough to cover and by Xmas there could be injuries as well. Morientes has all the experience you could want for some crucial European games. And he will score some goals for you. If Hodgson goes for him, I expect he'll be used as an impact player in the Europa... As a Free transfer, you would find it difficult to get anyone better.

We need another Litmamen in the dressing room.

I agree. I suggest we stay clear of him, no matter what experience he has...

Quite simply NO!

I gave a glowing report of one former Liverpool player but I can't do the same for this one. He struggled with just about everything in the PL!
