Fulham - Elliott Move in Danger?

Yesterday we reported how the tabloid press were suggesting that a potential target of ours would be the Bristol City midfielder, Marvin Elliott.

The rumour went on to imply that we`d try and tempt Elliott away from Bristol City with a fee of something approaching £3 million.

Well today, a different scenario is reported.

Those same members of the tabloid press are reporting that, in an attempt to persuade Elliott to stay, they`ve made him an improved offer.

Whether Elliott succumbs to this improved offer will, in our eyes, be down to a battle between whether he`s content at Ashton Gate or he has the ambitious drive that`s needed, allied with talent, to make that leap up into the Premier League!

We`ll keep you posted.

honestly didn't know about this transfer target till this morning, so i'm not to broken up at the idea of it not going through...

If Premiership football and a tilt at Europe aren't enough to motivate him -- then he's probably not worth having. I think Hodgson is in a very strong position to buy from abroad -- where the transfer fee can be spread as instalments along the term of the player contract. He also has so many contacts in Europe that I'm amazed if Bristol City will be where he does his shopping.

Can someone explain to me why we want this guy? I just don't see the appeal.

Off topic, but I just read on Setanta that Stoor wants out now that we've signed Kelly. http://www.setanta.com/uk/Articles/Football/2009/06/18/Prem-Stoor-agent-on-future/gnid-57514/

I'm not surprised Stoor wants out - guy never really got a chance did he!
Al Billy
Nope.

Back to Elliott, Bristol City website is reporting that he's signed the new contract. Good for him, and good for us, I think.
Samboney
Thank God, he is nowhere near good enough for the PL.
AlexFFC
phew! problem solved then!
