Fulham - A Touch Disappointed?

I`m sorry but it has to be said!

With everyone commenting on the purchase of Stephen Kelly, I seem to be the only person who is disappointed with the deal.

After finishing 7th, I had hoped it would be onward and upward. I hoped that the club would use the success of last season as a stepping stone for bigger and better things.

How can signing Kelly be considered as such?

The lad has hopped from club to club and my initial opinion is that Hodgson has taken a leaf out of the Lawrie Sanchez management handbook in plundering from the Championship.

I know John Pantsil is our first choice right back and I kind of thought that back-up would come through Fredrik Stoor and Chris Baird, not adding another right back to a squad that needs adding to in other areas!

Does anyone out there agree with me or am I standing all alone on this one?

I think we all hoped for a more substantial signing, but if it's a free transfer as some have suggested, I'm not terribly disappointed by it. Baird is out of contract (I believe) and Stoor has already expressed a desire to leave, so it may have been a necessity. Would I rather have spent £3m to land Nathaniel Clyne as our backup RB, sure, but if Roy is conserving money to spend it on some big signings, I can live with Kelly.

Is that my mate Kelly? She is a chelsea fan. Does her boyfriend know?

it does seem confusing a bit, as we have stoor and baird (whom i hope leaves, i can't stand him)... but if they both leave, they we need someone behind pantsil, and i can't get too upset with a free transfer... there is definitely a lot of work to be done yet in the transfer market, and i'll be disappointed if all our signings are of this caliber, but at this moment, i'm still optimistic... this seems to be a bit of squad maintenance moreso than an awe inspiring signing...
