Fulham on the Hunt

According to today`s reports Roy, along with Brum, is on the trail of Stephen Hunt

The Irish Independent goes on to state that Roy sent a representative to Sofia last Saturday to watch Hunt in Ireland's 1-1 draw with Bulgaria.

It is believed a £5 million get-out clause was included in the contract he signed in February.

I`m sure Hunt has the ability to make it in the prem, however I believe he is getting on a bit for us to be paying £5 million for him and I don't think he can offer much more than Dempsey. Reading are also allowing Doyle to leave, now there is a player I'd be happy to see in a Fulham shirt, we'll just need to beat off Villa for him. Easy!

I think Hunt would be a great pickup, but you're right that £5m is too much. Reading seem to be in the middle of a selling spree, so hopefully we can negotiate a lower fee.

Cost is too high. On another note, I read this morning that we are very close to signing Oguchi Onyewu on free transfer from Standard Liege. He's the American international center defender. Either he'll provide some depth as we embark on a euro tour or Brede is slipping away. Let's hope it's the former.

now wouldn't that wind up that lot from down the road - signing Steven Hunt :-)

he's too expensive... either negotiate down, or stay away... as for onyewu... there's no way that he could be an immediate replacement for brede... he's just not good enough... i do see some potential there though, and i think on a bosman and with roy's coaching, maybe we could make a good defender out of him... ps. do we get a discount on americans? i do love it being from the states...
