Hangeland - Arsenal to Open the Bidding?

It looks like our worst fears are about to be realised!

The Daily Mirror today carries the implication that Arsenal are looking to start the transfer tug-of-war for the services of our Norwegian centre half, Brede Hangeland.

It`s being implied that a £8 million bid is soon to be tabled to test Fulham`s resolve with the likelihood that this initial bid will flush other clubs out who are also keen to procure the services of an outstanding centre half for next season.

Keep those fingers crossed that the 27 year old, a major contender for our 'Player of the Season` award simply issues a statement that he`s going nowhere, that way the issue will be firmly placed in the lap of those who run our club.

Then we`ll see what ambition we`ve got!

I wouldn't get too worried about that report if I were you. It's the daily mirror, and I think all the supposed interest from us is just speculation. I rate Hangeland, but I don't think Wenger will be looking at him too much, I don't think he's his type.
Think its just a smoke screen and he'll go after Chiellini
I can't see him leaving for £8 million. That's not much more than Bullard...
lets hope goonerchops is right then!
Al Billy
8 is too little, and hopefully he doesn't leave...
