Fulham - Schwarzer in Contract Talks!

I wonder if, when Fulham signed Mark Schwarzer from Middlesbrough, they ever thought he`d have such a fantastic season!

As we`ve already mentioned today, Schwarzer is up with the front runners for the 'Player of the Year` award and now Fulham are acting swiftly to ensure the Australian keeper isn`t lured away by another club.

According to several sites on the internet, Fulham have started contract talks with Mark with the keeper admitting,

'There's been a few discussions"

'And I feel as good, if not better, than when I first signed for Fulham. At this stage in my career, if the manager backs you and you continue to play week in, week out, then why not continue to play for as long as possible?'

Exactly, why not!

So let`s all sit down and get that contract signed.

I didn't think his contract was an issue. He's made it clear that he'll only accept first team football, so he wouldn't go anywhere with an established keeper, anyway. In terms of showcasing his talent, what better team to be with than us. We do make him work for it sometimes. I guess if you wanted to make even more saves, you could always go to Bolton. Ask Jaaskelainen.

lol - Jaaskelainen is a class act though isn't he!

I guess Fulham do not want to leave anything to chance!

nice to see, if we can keep Schwarzer, Hangaland and Hughes I think next year could be another great one for fulham

This is good news. Hopefully, we are looking at potentially talented youngsters to come in when Mark does leave. Hopefully he becomes our GK coach when he retires.

what happened to Stockdale? Wasn't he one for the future?
