'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Striker Poser!

I`ve got a question for you all, a question you might like to ponder over before you answer!

It concerns, if they were all fit, who you would play up front for Fulham?

Logic, swayed by a hefty price tag, implies that Andrew Johnson should be guaranteed one of those starting positions, but who should partner him?

In recent games Diomansy Kamara and Erik Nevland have had valuable first team time and both have responded with goals.

But, and this is where you`ll have to seriously ponder, Roy Hodgson normally prefers to partner Bobby Zamora with Andrew Johnson, this despite the fact Zamora has only netted twice this season.

Hodgson is obviously impressed by other aspects of Zamora`s game, a fact Zamora has remarked upon recently, commenting,

'The goals haven't been coming but it's sort of a different role I have to play - it's not all-out attack.'

'Every other part of my game has been good - holding the ball up, bringing other people into play."

'If I'm not scoring, I'm setting someone else up."

'That's good enough for me and, as long as we win, I couldn't care less.'

So, has Zamora hit the nail on the head or should Nevland or Kamara partner AJ?

As far as I know Zamora and AJ weren't injured for the last game, and Joe and Erik put in a good performance. Pair the two again tomorrow I say! Next season...who knows!?

Id like to see AJ get a run out against his old club, hell be desperate to score against em

Zamora. He probably shouldn't be a starter next season, but he's earned the right to take a bow in front of the home faithful this weekend.
Samboney
good point but AJ will almost certainly be fired up to score!

as for a regular starting front two - AJ and Joe for me!

I would like to give the AJ/Zamora partnership more time. Zamora works tirelessly in defending from the front and has been a big part of the defensive success the team has had this season. If anything I would switch to Kamara/Zamora. I think Kamara is a more dynamic player than AJ and might be a good combination with Zamora's ability to hold up the ball.

Its clear no questions asked AJ with KAMARA clearly cause these are the 2 players that are skilfull and quick enough to get goals unlike zamora who pretty much lets AJ do all the running and when zamora does shoot it goes to the next town.

I still think theres a major confidence issue with Zamora, although i do agree that a few too many of his 'sitters' have ended up in stamford bridge

For sunday, Kamara and Nevland. For next season, we could easily find another Zamora whilst I think AJ deserves a full pre season and a chance to fully prove his price tag. Find a new partner for AJ, hopefully Vedad Ibisevic!

I like Ibisevic, too. Too bad about the injury. He was on pace to net 30+ this season. I don't know if Hoffenheim will sell him, though. They were top of the table before his injury. Now, they're barely hanging onto top-ten. Pretty clear how valuable he is to them.

I'll stick with the tried and trusted AJ and BZ!
