Fulham Ignite Scharner Interest Again!

All of a sudden, sitting high in the Premier League, signing for Fulham is gaining in attractiveness by the second.

Who knows who might turn up this summer!

The 'News of the World` has already started the rumour mill grinding away with the suggestion that Roy Hodgson is going to have another bash at securing the services of the Wigna player, Paul Scharner.

The Austrian has a versatility that would serve Fulham well being able to play in defence or midfield and the tabloid suggests that he`s keen to leave Wigan.

Scharner cost Wigan 2.5 million so if Fulham are looking to sign the player we`d expect a cheque for a similar amount of money would be the minimum requirement required.

We`ll keep you posted.

Forget 2.5 mil, there is a clause of 6 mil and Newcastle, Bayern Munich, Hamburg and Shalke have all lodged interest

The Daily Mirror has him linked with Newcastle, and mentions the 6 release clause. Doesn't mean he would cost us 6, but that Wigan would have to release him for a 6 bid. They could sell him for less. I read a couple of other articles suggesting Hamburg were interested in signing him. No way he's worth 6.

Assuming the main players stay, I dont see where he fits in. He's more error prone that Hughes and Hangeland, he's not as composed as Etuhu and he isnt as creative as Murphy. Doesn't seem worth 6M.
AlexFFC
agreed, forget him and go for huddlestone!

agreed!

Huddlestone looked great against Man City this weekend. I have no idea what Redknapp has against this guy.
Samboney
is he truly worth 6 million anyway??!!
FUL4EVA
not in my book he isn't mosst definitely not!
Al Billy
go for Huddlestone, power, not much pace but a tremendous range of passing!
Al Billy
I wouldn't go above 3 million and that's being generous!
Putney
not sure about Huddlestone though - not good enough for Spurs not good enough for us I'd suggest!
Putney
I think Huddlestone would be great for us. I put no stock in what Spurs think of him. Regarding Scharner, there are much better and cheaper options out there. Although, I hear he's a total flake. I wonder what he and Pantsil would be like together.
