Shearer`s Verdict on Schwarzer Foul!

Returning home to watch 'Match of the Day` last night, I have to admit I have a degree of sympathy with Alan Shearer.

Watching a live feed of the game yesterday I was as convinced as Phil Thompson was that it was a clear foul on Mark Schwarzer by Kevin Nolan.

But, watching it again, I`m now convinced that Schwarzer probably went looking for the decision and in the hostile world of Premier League management, Shearer did remarkably well not to launch in a rant when interviewed, instead he simply commented,

'We are bitterly disappointed at the disallowed goal."

'He got the big decision wrong. When he looks at it, he might think that as well.'

Normally, the suggestion is that these things even themselves out over the season, if so though, it doesn`t ease the heartache Newcastle face as they head off to Villa Park for a do-or-die fixture next weekend!

I thought it was clearly obstruction, and since keepers get a lot of protection these days, it had to be whistled. To be honest, Nolan's pick last week against 'Boro probably caused Howard Webb to pay more attention to him in the box than he might normally. Unlike some, I have absolutely no sympathy for Newcastle fans. You reap what you sow.

i certainly don't like nolan, or anyone other than jussi that's connected to bolton in some fashion... he was trying to impede our keeper, and he got caught... maybe a cheap foul, but you can't get too mad when you get caught cheating, even if it's only a little bit...

I'm surprised the Geordie nation aren't blaming the decison on the state of the nation, the politicians scandal, everything!

I actually thought the decision was a little harsh!
