Fulham in for Darlington Starlet

SkySports are reporting that Fulham are keen to sign 16-year-old Darlington striker Curtis Main.

Main is thought to have sufficiently impressed during a recent trial at Craven Cottage to convince the club to make an offer for Darlington`s youngest-ever player and goal scorer.

Main made close to twenty league appearances for the Quakers this season,
contributing two goals.

The club finished the season in 12th position in League Two, but would`ve
finished in a promotion playoff spot were it not for the 10-point deduction leveled after they entered administration in February. The club find themselves in such dire financial straits that earlier this month they were forced to cancel the contracts of all but one senior squad player.

You always hate to take advantage of another club`s misfortune. We may have to look at this as simply giving a promising youngster a chance to advance his career. Let`s hope Darlington find a buyer and pull themselves out of this mess.
