Fulham - Looking at Close Season Expenditure!

After steering, potentially, Fulham to their highest ever league position expectation levels, next season, are going to be higher then ever.

The $64,000 question is whether Roy Hodgson will be given the opportunity to push the club onwards and upwards.

Since taking over the managerial role, following the sacking of Lawrie Sanchez, Roy has turned our club around and in the last twelve months taken us to places we could only dream about.

If you were to be honest with yourselves, down on the south coast last season, praying for a goal at Fratton Park, would you have seriously believed that we`d be on the verge of European qualification, through league position?

But, to take the club forward, Roy will need to purchase again, players will need to be recruited to expand and strength the squad, especially if we`re to become embroiled in a Europa League campaign.

Speaking about the situation, you get the feeling Mr Al Fayed has yet to give a definitive answer as to what funds will be made available for purchases this summer, especially with Roy being quoted as saying,

"The chairman is just waiting for us to come back and say - 'we`ve identified the targets` - and then he`ll make his decisions about how much money he can allow us."

I`d also hazard a guess that any potential sales may bolster the pot and that the money from the Jimmy Bullard sale may well be made available.

Interesting times down by that quant old river aren`t they!

I am looking forward to Summer in a weird way...
KBFulham
Looking forward to it, also. As far as I'm concerned, Hangeland is off to Arsenal or Villa. If Man City get into it, they could really drive up the price. The Bullard money and what we get for Brede might be enough to bring in 3 or 4 quality players. Hopefully, we can move most of the loanees on to permanent transfers and use the money to pick up some younsters just to bolster the reserves.

so are we sacrificing Brede to improve the team?
Al Billy
Well, given my choice I'd keep him, but if someone rolls in with 12 or 15 million, I don't think we'd turn it down. Brede is great, but organization is the key. If Roy can find someone who can follow direction and play with the unit, I think we can keep a strong defensive group, though there's no replacing someone like Hangeland.
Samboney
Im not really looking forward to the summer, I fear Hangeland will leave and that we won't sign any quality player, maybe one at a push. A striker is most important though.

this is the time when mo really has to pull some cash out,roy really knows what he is doin and could really get a great team together, and we got to keep players like brede if we want to b taken seriously

i'd be careful sculping a team around a tournament that we might not be in next season... i'd love to hold onto brede... we need more players for a normal premiership squad, nevermind european... most importantly, mo can't let the europa league bankrupt him, we need him!, and we need roy! ultimately, brede can go, but i'd love to keep him...
