Fulham In The Champions League?!

Fulham In The Champions League?!

With all the furore surrounding the reaction of the Chelsea players to the match on Wednesday which saw them dumped out of the Champions League and reading the shocking comments some 'fans' have left on the internet, it got me thinking.........In a wierd way I hope Fulham never get that big.

Hear me out! Now a bit of success would be great like winning the FA Cup but part of me thinks that supporting Fulham is a unique experience. We are still a small(ish) club by Premier League standards and it would be dreadful for what the club means to me and surely you fellow Whites if suddenly fans started coming to the Cottage or supporting the team just because we were winning the league or if we signed the worlds star player.

I rather enjoy being mediocre and cheering on the unsung heroes like John Pantsil, Dickson Etuhu and Aaron Hughes!

I think having no expectations and coming out with a win is better than expecting to win all the time! I'd have to agree with you on your point Alex.

You need only take a look at Chelsea to see how success can effect the fan base of a team. Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge them one bit of their success. The only way to compete these days is money, and they found a way to get it. Don't hate the player; hate the game. All I'm saying is that their fans are different since 2003. They seem miserable with anything but perfection.

I tottaly understand what you are saying I agree with your point and hence i feel supporting a higher mid table team is the best experience. So relativly big clubs like Everton,Ourselves, Aston Villa, Man city are probably the most fun to support and i am lucky enough to be supporting one of them.

Dear mr Hodgson. I have just read your comments on Jamie Redknapps slating of the referree because he was Norwegian. I take my hat off to you for talking absolute sense and putting into perspective the attendances between the two countries too. Not only have you done an absolutely sterling job at Fulham you have also put to shame many of the so called 'expert pundits' who talk nothing but crap. I for one hope you get into Europe next year as you deserve it! Best of luck
