'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Vote for Roy is a Worthy Vote!

It`s something we`ve touched on before and now it has the backing of none other than Clint Dempsey!

Whilst the usual plethora of candidates will be trotted out - Sir Alex Ferguson, Rafa Benitez, David Moyes, Martin O`Neill etc. etc for the Manager of the Year, it`s highly unlikely that our Roy will get a look in.

But, as Clint puts it is there not a great case for Roy to be awarded the accolade, when asked by the media this is what Clint had to say,

"Why not Roy as manager of the year?"

"It`s such a turnaround from avoiding relegation on the last day to pushing for Europe. He`s up there with David Moyes and Martin O`Neill. There has been more spotlight on those guys because Villa were pushing for the top four and Everton are in the FA Cup Final, but Roy has shown he deserves to be in contention."

"Getting Fulham into Europe is arguably a better achievement than Manchester United winning the League."

"It`s a total turnaround from last year and credit goes t Roy and also our players because we have worked hard week in and week out. Roy has come in and given confidence to the players to get the ball down and play."

So, has Roy deserved to be mentioned in such high company, is he a candidate for manager of the season?

For my money ther are only two that should be considered. Roy and O'Neill. I think that manager/coach of the year should be awarded to the manager whose team most exceeds expectations.

MON has seen his sides form drop away - might cost him big time!

MON bagged it in UEFA Cup. The team hasn't been the same since. No chance. Roy deserves it. If we finish 7th, I'll give him an outside chance to beat out Fergie for the award.
