Fulham - Goals Don`t Tell The True Story!
Taking a brief look at the table it would be, perhaps, fair comment to suggest we`re not exactly a free scoring side.
With 33 Premier League fixtures played we`ve scored 33 goals, even a dumb arse like me can work out that equates to an average of a goal a game.
But, it doesn`t really tell the true story does it?
Mark Schwarzer doesn`t seem to think so when on the eve of the visit from Stoke City he commented to the media,
"The biggest criticism we`ve received this year is that we haven`t scored enough goals."
"But to be fair, the guys up front have worked hard. Bobby and Andy have contributed immensely to us being so strong defensively. That does, at times, take away opportunities to push forward and score goals."
Two fair points Mark and although our goal return is poor I`ll doubt you`ll find a true Fulham fan that`ll bemoan the way our season has gone so far!

Well, you need balance and I'm afraid we're depending too heavily on organization and defense. I think we need a little improvement in attack, but its certainly not a crisis.

i think the one thing that a fulham fan could bemoan is the missed opportunities... granted, our team defense reduces the number of chances our forwards have to get goals, but what rubs me the wrong way is not being clinical in front of the goal... i'd be interested to see what our goals to shots on goal ratio is.

We need a goalscorer next year just incase the defence does become leaky. Still, it hasn't really been cause for major concern, just a nagging doubt.

If we get the balance right, we will be pressing high up the league next term. If it stays as it is though, we will only drop down. We were lucky this year with the tightness of the league...
