'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Hodgson Plaudits for Schwarzer!

It`s fast approaching the time of the year whereby candidates for 'Player of the Year` start to be nominated.

No doubt you`ll all have your own choice and I`ve no doubt they`ll be a varied selection.

But one candidate has the backing of a certain Roy Hodgson when it comes to being value for money.

Step forward, Mark Schwarzer with Roy commenting,

"He was a free transfer. So in that respect that his transfer cost to Fulham was zero, you have to say he was the best buy of the season."

"He`s been a major contributor to our success - he`s had an outstanding season."

"He`s the goalkeeper we thought he was, and he`s been unbelievably consistent in his performances."

"His dealing with crosses and shots has been very good and he has brought stability to the team - you can see that in the confidence the back four have in him. Every team has got its units, and our defensive unit has been very strong this year, and Mark has been a major factor in that."

So, in your opinion, is Schwarzer a leading candidate for our Player of the Season?

Yes. He is a super goalie. Fantastic shot stopper, agile, reliable and more importantly, consistent!

Id go further than signing of the season, signing of the decade! In all seriousness, he has been wonderful. Best keeper I have ever seen at Fulham, yes even ahead of Van Der Sar.
