Fulham - Striker Scores Shock?

Tuning into 'Sky Sports News` before I retired to bed last night, I saw a rare sight.

With the focus on the battle to get out of the Championship reaching fever pitch, there were Cardiff City hammering Derby County.

More excitingly there was our very own Eddie Johnson scoring the sort of goal that probably persuaded those in charge at Fulham to part with their cash and buy the lad.

Looking at the quality of the finish last night, I can only ponder,

What the bl**dy hell went wrong for him at Craven Cottage?"

KB and I have discussed this on occasion. He's young, so I'd like to see him stick it out and work his way up to the top flight instead of retreating to america, but I just don't know if he's cut out for the Prem. Here's hoping he proves me wrong.

He still has the potential to improve, it'll just take the right gaffer and team to bring it out of him. Perhaps Roy is the right gaffer, but I'm not sure we're the right team!

He seems to have adapted to the physical elements of the game as he is winning balls in the air all the time whenever I have seen Cardiff play. Would like him to come good but I think Roy will move him on in the summer.

other side of my family are unfortunately cardiff fans, i text my cousin who was at the game and said they could have him. Having talked 2 him before about Eddie he just sent me the reply "yours and its going to stay that way" hes got pace but ive read so many USA articles that slate him as a player and thats Americans. You very rarely here them slate one of there own. I can see him going back to the US and doing what Taylor Twellman has done but hes never going any further. Watch Landon Donavan for Bayern and tell me that hes ever going to be good enough for the premier league. Hes 24 and im not sure that really equates as young anymore to be honest you have to be scoring more than 10 a season to even have a chance in the premierleague at 24. Just my thoughts...

He clearly isn't up to our standards, but there is nothing wrong with strength in depth right?

theres strength in depth and then theres weakness in depth, like geordie nation they have 3 good strikers then they have ameobi and viduka ..

I was puzzled when we signed him. In the MLS, he was a streaky scorer at best. Nothing about his game said Prem quality. I still think the deal was in the works before Roy took over. He just doesn't seem like someone Roy would bring in.

That's a fair opinion Sam, but I think Roy may have had a go if this was pre-arranged. It may just have been a one-off bad signing from Roy.
