Fulham - Chase on for Etuhu!

After having lost one influential midfield player already, I`d imagine there`s no chance that Roy Hodgson would want to lose another!

The Daily Mirror, this morning, carries an article that implies there is significant interest from both Aston Villa and Everton in Dickson Etuhu.

In fact it`s being suggested that both clubs are lining up a summer bid for the player.

Etuhu, who joined us last summer on a 3 year deal has made a significant impact since stepping into the void left by the sudden departure of Jimmy Bullard.

Obviously, his performances have struck a chord with David Moyes and Martin O`Neill. But fear not, the very same article also implies that Fulham are prepared to offer the player an improved deal in an attempt to secure his Craven Cottage future.

All that remains is to see which way the pendulum will finally swing on this interesting little snippet!

This story's got 'agent banter' all over it, what with the dearth of 'young' players we have in that position. He's played 15 games or so and looked slightly shaky for the first couple of those. Granted, he's come on leaps and bounds but would he start every week at Villa or Everton, ahead of their incumbent midfielders? I doubt it......

I think there are many better central midfielders out there well worth playing at Etuhu's level, if not, better. Therefore, if we can get a good price out of either of these 'top 6' clubs, I reckon we should let him go. Perhaps bring in Huddlestone....

let's be honest, i'd be ok with a straight swap of huddlestone and etuhu... etuhu may be a bit more bullish on the field, which i appreciate, but huddlestone seems to have some serious class... martin o'neil's interested in him? i didn't know etuhu was english...

id happily swap him for Huddlestone. Agreed that Etuhu is somewhat 'bullish' in that hes not afraid to stick his foot in, but Huddlestones passing play is imho in a different league to Dickson's... If we can find an equal, if not better player for around about the same money, I dont see why Roy wouldnt cash in

Exactly. Etuhu is a top player, don't get me wrong, but it would seem, following his performances, we can get a good amount of money for him. The sort of money we would get selling a 'good' in-form player, could easily purchase a 'top-drawer' out-of-form player; and with Hodgson's man management ability, it could prove fantastic!

I can't think one thing he's done that would warrant interest from either Villa or Everton, but hey, as long as they're willing to pay, go ahead. I think he's played well enough, but I certainly don't think he's irreplacable.

I think it is fair to say he has proven he has ability. It took us to bring it out of him though!
